Meet a new BarefootBarista:

Name: Marie ‘Mariesta Murdaaa’ Holston. I’ve been working in the coffee industry for a number of years, only recently becoming a Barista at Barefoot. A somewhat unique part of working of Barefoot is that we regularly rotate what is being pulled as espresso. This has demanded that I step up my killa skillz behind the bar. More specifically, learning to adapt to the different flavor profiles and extract accordingly. This is both challenging and rewarding as a barista. Although it took a hot second (and I mean hot) to get accustomed to our many blends, it has positively expanded my understanding and abilities. Thus said, I finally feel comfortable and familiar enough with all our espresso to declare, “Bossanova has really been killing things recently. Uuuuuuhhhhh…”

Although Bossanova and I had a rough beginning, one morning I finally pulled a 28 second 1.75oz shot of smooth velvety love. I was stoked on the few moments I spent sipping the well-balanced tasty shot. If you don’t know, the kind of shot that makes your body shiver and taste buds yearn for more… To be more EXPLICITÂ why I enjoy Bossanova so much; I find the thick, syrupy body of Sumatra, Sumatra dark and Mexican dark evenly balanced by the delicate fruity notes of the Mexican Nayarit. A combination that offers a truly well-rounded taste profile. The first sip that slides all over the tongue, heavy but with a subtle delicacy of citrus-like acidity…ending with lingering hints of cacao sweetness. Really a fantastically smooth and rich sensory experience. So get some right here!. Holla.

Last weekend it was the lovely barista Leslie from Bellano’s rocking behind the bar as our guest barista. Pouring some stunning latte art, a few Barefoot ego’s were put in check. Coming up this weekend we have Victrola’s Streamline Espresso as our guest espresso. Drinking Streamline is like daydreaming about eating fresh berrys while walking a carmel path in a pine forest. Plus it is now roasted the man straight out of the Dub-C, the man who hooked me on great coffee, “my roomate is a mini-Diedrich” Keith.

Barefoot is showing strong all over the Bay Area. Most of the south bay and peninsula Whole Foods stores are supporting great coffee and sustainability by providing Barefoot Coffee to their customers. The stores are selling extremely well due to the awesome support of the many Barefoot fans out there who love great coffee. Most Whole Foods are stocking 4-6 of our award winning coffees. But they need to hear from you and see your support. So if you like the Barefoot coffee leave a message with a Whole Foods team member about how much you love the coffee. And let them know that you would like to be able to bag it fresh from the bulk bins as well. That allows them to fight the good fight against corporate mediocrity.

Barefoot coffee is available at these Bay Area Whole Foods:
